The Department of Education (DepEd) Tiaong District Office commits further collaboration with the DSWD in responding to the needs of and ensuring the provision of quality education to more than 6,000 child-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the locality.

In a meeting conducted last March 4, 2024 with the DepEd District Office represented by Public School District Supervisor Restituto Hernandez, the DepEd pledged continuous support to the DSWD particularly in the monitoring as well as maintaining and encouraging continuous compliance of child-beneficiaries to the program.

As one of the main stakeholders of the 4Ps, the DepEd helps the DSWD in monitoring the compliance of household-beneficiaries to their co-responsibility on education or the 85 percent monthly class attendance of monitored 4Ps children.

The monitoring of the compliance of children to this co-responsibility is important to ensure that 4Ps children go to school and maximize their opportunities to learn every month. The failure of children to meet this co-responsibility in a month will also result in their household not receiving the allocated cash grant for the month.

According to Arnel Buefano, 4Ps Project Development Officer assigned at the Quezon Provincial Operations Office, the DepEd Tiaong District Office will also be conducting School Heads Consultation and 4Ps Orientation and will support 4Ps activities such as the Inter-School Search for Exemplary 4Ps Children, Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya, and Family Camp.

The DSWD, through the 4Ps Tiaong Municipal Operations Office, on the other hand, will continuously engage 4Ps beneficiaries to support DepEd’s activities such as the Brigada Eskwela and outreach programs among others. [with reports from ATBuefano]
