Sixty (60) participant-stakeholders of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in Santa Teresita, Batangas received the capital assistance for their respective associations’ enterprises or livelihood projects.

A total of Php900,000.00 capital assistance was awarded to the said recipients, who as a member of their respective association will be undertaking their respective enterprises as a group. The said recipients are members of the Dream Builders SLP Association (29 members) in Brgy Calumala; the St. Therese SLP Association (15 members) in Brgy Poblacion 2; and the Irukanian’s SLP Association (16 members) in Brgy Irukan. The said members also completed recently an Organizational Development and Leadership Training.

According to Amor Lunar Reyes, the project development officer for the three associations, the attendance of the participant beneficiaries of the three associations to the said training is important as this ensures that they are aware of the program objectives and guidelines and have the necessary basic skills to manage their respective group enterprise.

Mayor Norberto Segunial, who graced the simple awarding ceremony of the groups’ capital fund last November 28, 2023, expressed appreciation for the assistance provided and challenged the association members to make good use of the assistance for their hog raising and rice trading enterprise.

“Malaking panimulang puhunan ang binigay sa inyo at ganun din ang training na binigay, samantalahin at palaguin ninyo ang tulong na inyong natanggap upang makatulong ang pagkakataong ito sa bawat miyembro ng inyong grupo,” Mayor Segunial said. (with reports from ALReyes).
