The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) awarded a total Php109,775,000.00 worth of livelihood assistance to 7,876 beneficiaries of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in the CALABARZON Region during the period January to September 2023.

Of the total amount of assistance awarded, Php38,415,000.00 were awarded to 122 Associations under the regular SLP, Php23,915,000.00 were awarded to 2,152 individuals under the SLP-Individual Referral and Individual Settlement Grant Referral programs, and Php47,445,000.00 were awarded to 3,163 rice retailers under the Emergency Relief Subsidy for micro rice retailers.

Other than the livelihood assistance, the 2,561 members of the 122 SLP Associations are also provided capacity building sessions and are being monitored by the Department in coordination with the concerned local government units.  The monitoring of the association is regularly being conducted to ensure that the assistance provided are properly utilized and recorded

The SLP is one of the programs of the DSWD under the promotive service of the Department.  The program aims to provide capital assistance and capability building support services to qualified individuals to enable them to engage in livelihood projects, individually or as a group, or help them find gainful employment, with an end goal of earning an additional income for their families.

 In the CALABARZON Region alone a total of 89,395 individuals / families had been served by the SLP since 2020.
