A total of 37 qualified micro rice retailers in the City of Antipolo received subsidies following the imposition of price cap on regular and well-milled rice. Last September 13, the said beneficiaries received PhP 15,000 in a payout conducted at the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry in the said city.

Implemented under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program, the Cash Assistance for Micro Rice Retailers is being provided to small rice retailers as an economic relief subsidy to support those who are adversely affected by the said price cap.

The implementation of the price cap is based on Executive Order No. 39, which imposes a price cap nationwide amounting to PhP 41 per kilogram for regular milled rice and PhP 45 per kilogram for well-milled rice. # [with reports from WNLAbdullah]
