A total of 75 in-school youth across the CALABARZON region recently completed their 30-day government internship program with the DSWD Field Office IV-A.

These students, who are members of the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) in their respective localities, were exposed to various government office works. For the 30-day duration of their internship, they were assigned in the different local social welfare and development offices of their local government units.

According to Rhea Romero, social worker of the DSWD handling the said program, the internship not only taught the students about necessary skills in the workplace but also helped them earn money to support some of their school needs.

Last September 13, during their assessment at the Field Office IV-A in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, these students received PhP 9,000 as stipend for their service. [with reports from RRRomero]
