The local government of Sto. Tomas City, Batangas committed continuous support to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in their locality. These commitments were identified and presented by the members of the 4Ps City Advisory Council during the Localized Kilos Unlad Training for local partners conducted in the locality last August 9.

The said training is an initiative of the DSWD Field Office IV-A that aims to re-orient the local stakeholders on the 4Ps implementation as well as collectively plan for interventions and strategies to help improve the living conditions of 4Ps beneficiaries.

According to Christine Buño, project development officer of the 4Ps at the Batangas Provincial Operations Office, the LGU assured the DSWD of helping respond to the gaps identified in the program implementation. These include the provision of technical-vocational training, livelihood assistance, employment facilitation, and housing assistance among others.

The Kilos Unlad is a case management strategy of the 4Ps towards helping the beneficiaries achieve self-sufficiency at the end of the seven-year inclusion in the program. [with reports from CGBuño]
