REQUEST FOR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT. Parent leaders of Batangas Province read to Sen. Ralph Recto the petition to institutionalize the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program during the Parent Leaders’ Congress in Batangas City last September 18, 2015.

More than 3,000 parent leaders of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Batangas Province pushed for the government’s continuous support to the health and education of their children through the institutionalization of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) or the Pantawid Pamilya program. The beneficiaries gave the petition to Senator Ralph Recto during the Parent Leaders’ Congress held in Batangas City last September 18, 2015.

Sen. Recto is the author of Senate Bill No. 1152 or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Act of 2013—the Act to Reduce Poverty and Promote Human Capital Development by Institutionalizing the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Program.

Ronilda Delos Trinos, a parent leader from Nasugbu in the said province, shared that they are the proof that the program is helping poor families, particularly when it comes to the education and health of children.

In his response to the petition of the beneficiaries, Sen. Recto affirmed his support to the program, especially to the beneficiaries.

“’Wag po kayong mag-alala, sisigurihin po nating maisasabatas ang CCT,” Sen. Recto shared, earning the applause of the parent leaders.

The Senator also added that he believes in the DSWD, especially its people empowerment style of service delivery.

“Sa simula, aakayin kayo ng gobyerno. Sa kalaunan, aasa na kayo sa sarili n’yo at titindig sa sarili n’yong mga paa,” said Sen. Recto.

DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman thanked the Senator for his full support to the program and encouraged the beneficiaries to continuously work towards changing their lives.

“Kayo ang maliwanag na tagapagpatotoo na ang pagbabago ay nanggagaling sa inyo. Ituloy ninyo ang mga pagbabagong ito. Magkatuwang ang pamahalaan at ang mga mamamayan sa tuloy-tuloy na pagbabago ng bawat pamilya,” Sec. Soliman said.

During the Parent Leaders’ Congress, the provincial government of Batangas also conferred Sec. Soliman as the province’s adoptive daughter.

Further, Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto also committed the province’s continuous support to the program and the Department. In her message to the beneficiaries, Gov. Recto announced the provision of incentives to parent leaders of the program as acknowledgement for their hard work and dedication to serve their fellow beneficiaries.#
