Residents of the National Training School for Boys (NTSB) in Tanay, Rizal Province have 10 motorcycles for their various skills training activities after the Bureau of Customs (BOC) turned over these donations to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The NTSB is a DSWD-managed institution that provides protection and parental care to children in conflict with the law (CICLs). The center provides rehabilitative care to CICLs in a residential setting and prepares them for adjustment with their family and community after discharge.

DSWD Field Office IV-A Regional Director Leticia T. Diokno thanks the BOC for choosing DSWD and NTSB as recipients of the used motorcycles.

According to Ms. Hayde Dinglasa, NTSB Center Head, the motorcycles will be a big help for the residents in acquiring skills along motorcycle repair.

Skills trainings are among the services provided to the residents of the center as part of rehabilitating and preparing them for their discharge in the community.

The motorcycles were turned over to the DSWD during the BOC Port of Batangas City’s 58th anniversary celebration last August 17. Dir. Diokno, together with the staff from the said center, received the donations from the BOC.

There are 268 CICLs who are currently being served in the said center and will be able to benefit from the said donations.# with reports from ECBelmonte
