The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Field Office IV-A, promoted good health and nutrition among the resident-children in conflict with the law of the National Training School for Boys (NTSB) during the celebration of the Nutrition Month this July 2015.

With the theme “Timbang iwasto sa tamang nutrisyon at ehersisyo,” the NTSB conducted various activities for the month of July that include talks on healthy lifestyle, zumba dance exercises, slogan and poster making contest, essay writing contest, Nutri Mask parade, Nutri Quiz Bee and cooking contest.

Nutritionist Zita Monje emphasized to the residents the effects of vices to the body and encouraged them to eat nutritious food and engage in physical activities.

During the celebration’s culminating activity last July 24, Center Head Hayde Dinglasa encouraged the residents to practice a healthy lifestyle through a balanced food intake and participation in the center’s weekly wellness program.

The NTSB is a DSWD-managed institution in Tanay, Rizal Province that provides protection and parental care to children in conflict with the law (CICLs). The center provides rehabilitative care to CICLs in a residential setting and prepares them for adjustment with their family and community after discharge.

To date, there are 268 children being provided with care in the said center.# with reports from JJRuzol & HGDinglasa
