The People Power Volunteers for Reform (PPVR) – Cavite commits continuous support to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in resolving the problems of the poor.

In a consultation dubbed as Talakayan sa mga benepisyong natatanggap mula sa DSWD at PCSO held in Dasmariñas City, Cavite with at least 120 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program from various municipalities in the province, the PPVR gathered their feedback on their experiences with the program.

The beneficiaries cited the help of the program not only because of the financial assistance but also on the discipline it teaches them through the monthly Family Development Sessions (FDS).

According to PPVR – Cavite Provincial Coordinator Neneth Talastas, the consultation is a means to help both the DSWD and the beneficiaries in improving the implementation of the program.

Patuloy kaming magiging gabay, bantay at kaagapay,” Talastas shared.

During the consultation, the beneficiaries also mentioned queries and concerns regarding payouts, retroactive payments, assessment of potential beneficiaries and updating of new information in the database among others, which DSWD IV-A Assistant Regional Director for Administration Mylah Gatchalian addressed towards the end of the activity.

Gatchalian shared.

The DSWD continuously engages civil society organizations like the PPVR in the implementation of its different programs and services. To date, there are 41 active civil society organizations in the CALABARZON Region engaging in the conduct of FDS, provision of livelihood trainings, employment facilitation and scholarship programs for the beneficiaries of different DSWD programs.***
