The Department of Social Welfare and Development had provided a total of Php4,174,250.00 worth of relief goods to families affected by Typhoon Glenda in the CALABARZON Region only.  At least 140,181 families in the Region were affected by the said typhoon as of July 20, 2014.

Of the said number of families, 10,626 families are currently staying in 202 evacuation centers throughout the Region.  The said families are displaced by landslides, flooding, and damaged houses caused by the typhoon.  The total number of houses reported to be totally damaged is 24,032, while another 82,507 houses are reported to be partially damaged.

Based on the report of DSWD Field Office IV-A, a total of 16,700 family food packs were already distributed in the said evacuation centers and to families living outside evacuation centers.  The said food packs consist of rice and assorted canned goods.

Aside from the relief goods provided by DSWD, another Php5.5M worth of relief goods are estimated to had been provided by the local government units and non-government organizations to the families affected.***
