July 07, 2025 – A total of 300 residents of Angono, Rizal received cash assistance amounting to PhP 3.12 million last July 3, 2025 for completing their community projects under the DSWD’s Project LAWA at BINHI. These projects are targeted to help address food insecurity and water insufficiency in their communities. 

The said residents were engaged in a cash-for-training and cash-for-work for a total of 20 days for the establishment of community vegetable gardens and small farm reservoirs in barangays San Pedro, San Isidro, San Roque, Poblacion Ibaba, and Mahabang Parang.

Each resident received PhP 10,400 or equivalent to PhP 520 per day of engagement with the program.

The Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) capacitates and engages residents in developing and sustaining projects that would help address food insecurity and water insufficiency in their communities while also helping residents to have a temporary source of income for their families.

Through the assistance of the local government of Angono, the residents are also expected to work towards sustaining these projects for the benefit of their families and communities. [with reports from MERCao]
