May 23, 2025 – The DSWD Field Office IV-A and the local government unit of Pangil, Laguna formally turned over last May 17, 2025 the completed projects under the Risk Resiliency Program thru Project LAWA at BINHI. These projects, including small farm reservoirs and communal gardens, will now be managed by 200 community residents, who are also the primary beneficiaries of the said program.
The Project LAWA at BINHI [(Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) aims to capacitat and engage community residents in developing and sustaining projects that can help address the effects of climate change.

In the town of Pangil, the residents completed small farm reservoirs and communal gardens in Brgy. San Jose, Brgy. Galalan, and Pangil Elementary School.
In exchange for their engagement with the program, the beneficiaries will receive financial assistance, which they can use to augment their daily needs.
According to Myke Patrice Ordoveza, project development officer of the DSWD, the turnover marked the transfer of ownership and accountability of the projects to the community as they can use these projects as a source of food and water.
Prior to the turnover, the community residents underwent a sustainability workshop last May 16 where they were capacitated on sustainable farming practices, community-based project management, and maintenance of water infrastructure among others. [with reports from MPBOrdoveza]
