May 22, 2025 – The DSWD, through its Field Office IV-A, has started the tutorial sessions for at least 900 incoming Grade 2 pupils in 31 elementary schools in Bacoor City, Cavite last May 19, 2025. These sessions are conducted under the DSWD’s Tara Basa! Tutoring Program.
In the said city, the Tara Basa! Tutoring Program is implemented in partnership with students from Cavite State University (CvSU) Bacoor Campus. These students serve as tutors and youth development workers who are capacitated to provide tutorial and Nanay-Tatay Sessions aimed at helping the pupils improve their reading skills.

A total of 510 CvSU students are currently engaged in the implementation of these sessions, which will run for 20 days.
At the end of the sessions, these students will receive financial assistance from the DSWD in exchange for their involvement with the program. This financial assistance can be used by the students to augment their school needs. [with reports from JDevera / MAEPadilla]
