February 24, 2025 – Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from Guinayangan, Quezon are grateful for the PhP 450,000 seed capital fund awarded to them last February 18, 2025 under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
These beneficiaries, organized into three SLP associations by the DSWD in 2024, received PhP 150,000 per association to start their chosen microenterprises to enable them to earn additional income for their families.

These associations include the Manlayo Fisherfolks SLP Association, Calimpak SLP Association, and Nabangka Fisherfolks and Farmers SLP Association. A total of 86 of the 90 members of these associations are beneficiaries of the 4Ps.
“Malaki ang maitutulong sa amin ng negosyong ito dahil ito ang magiging daan upang masuportahan ang aming mga pamilya lalo’t higit kapag nawala na kami sa 4Ps,” shared Marina Panganiban, one of the 26 4Ps beneficiaries who are members of the Manlayo Fisherfolks SLP Association.
Their association will be starting their lapu-lapu production through the awarded seed capital fund.
The SLP is a program of the DSWD that is implemented alongside the 4Ps to capacitate beneficiaries to engage in income-generating activities to help support their families’ needs and help them eventually stand on their own.

Marivic Mayo, a member of the Calimpak SLP Association, also shared her gratitude to the opportunity to start their own community store on behalf of all the 30 4Ps beneficiaries of their association.
“Hindi lang ito basta tulong, ito ay bagong pag-asa para sa amin. Sa pamamagitan nito, mayroon na kaming pagkakataong magsimula at matuto sa paghahanapbuhay para maitaguyod namin ang aming mga pangarap para sa aming mga pamilya,” shared Mayo.
Panganiban added that all of the members of their association will work together to ensure that the opportunity provided to them by the DSWD will be fruitful. [with reports from MSMHernandez]
