The Empowered San Ignacio Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Association, composed of 20 beneficiaries from Brgy. San Ignacio, Rosario, Batangas, started their hog-raising micro-enterprise last February 6, 2025.
The association purchased 13 hogs for this initial cycle using the PhP 300,000 seed capital fund they received from the DSWD under the SLP.
As program participants of the SLP, they were organized in 2024 and were provided with various capacity building programs by the DSWD to propose for and later manage their chosen micro-enterprise.

“Pagkatapos ng apat na buwan ng pag-aalaga sa mga baboy, inaasahang magkakaroon sila ng dagdag kita upang mas mapalago pa ang kanilang negosyo at mas mas masuportahan ang pangangailangan ng kani-kanilang pamilya,” shared Loida Pesigan, provincial monitoring and evaluation officer of the SLP in the said province.
Of the 20 members of the SLP association, 10 are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The SLP is a program of the DSWD implemented alongside the 4Ps to help improve the economic status of poor families to enable them to stand on their own. [with reports from LOPesigan]
