The Department of Social Welfare and Development, in coordination with the Psychology Department of De La Salle University – Lipa, recently conducted a Family Day celebration for the residents of the Regional Haven for Women – Rosario, Batangas.

The activity, which includes sessions on teamwork, cooperation and games, was held BLUROZE, Lipa City and was participated by residents of the center, their families, and faculty members of DLSU-Lipa Psychology Department who also served as the facilitators of the activity.

According to Ms Florita Herminigildo, center head of Regional Haven for Women, the activity was conducted outside the center in order to provide the residents a new ambiance for learning and rehabilitation, and be integrated to the outside world.  The activity was also conducted to provide an residents valuable time with their family despite the difficult circumstance that they had undergone.

“We hope that through this activity our residents will appreciate the value of family and strive to be a responsible members even if they had some not so good experiences,”  Ms. Herminigildo added.

Under the theme “Nagkaka-isang Henerasyon, Matatag na Lipunan, Matatag na Pamilya,” guest faculties from DLSU-Lipa conducted sessions on deepening of self- awareness. They also conducted games and teambuilding activities that focused on teamwork, cooperation, concern of others, communication, listening skill, and perseverance.***
