Five Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) associations in Lobo, Batangas received their seed capital fund amounting to a total of PhP 1.3 million last August 27, 2024. These SLP associations, composed of 87 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from different barangays, are set to start their chosen micro-enterprises including rice and egg retailing, hog raising, and purified water vending.

According to 4Ps Municipal Link Christine Joy Davalos, the provision of livelihood assistance to these 4Ps beneficiaries will open opportunities for their respective families to engage in sustainable income-generating activities. These will enable them to develop their entrepreneurial skills and also lead towards the improvement of their living conditions.

The SLP is a program of the DSWD implemented alongside the 4Ps that capacitates program participants to engage in sustainable sources of income through skills training, micro-enterprise development, and employment facilitation. [with reports from CJBDavalos]
