The Department of Social Welfare and Development recently conducted a capability building session for selected parent leaders of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Region IV-A or the CALABARZON Region.
The training, which was participated by fifty four (54) parent leaders from the different provinces of the region, aims to enhance the capacity of the said leaders as advocates not only of the program but on the need for family development as a whole.
Based on the report of DSWD Field Officce IV-A, the training specifically aims to capacitate the parent leaders into assuming the roles of information disseminator, spokesperson, and a source of inspiration.
Aside from lecture sessions, the participants of the training also underwent various simulation and role playing activities. Among these are responding to interviews and speaking in front of a big group.
Mary Jane Miranda of Batangas Province, also a parent leader-participant expressed enthusiasm on the new knowledge and skills she acquired in the training.
