August 08, 2025 – The DSWD Field Office IV-A continues to reach out to Sama-Bajau beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Batangas Province to ensure that they are able to maximize the benefits they receive from the program.

Last August 6, validation sessions were conducted in Brgy. Wawa, Batangas City and in Brgy. San Piro, Balayan, Batangas to collect updated data from the beneficiaries such as household information and enrollment status of children among others.

In the 4Ps implementation, the accuracy of the data of each household-beneficiary is crucial in ensuring that appropriate cash grants are received by the beneficiaries. The information of each household serves as a basis for monitoring the compliance of beneficiaries to program conditions, which determines the amount of cash grants they receive per month.

Further, the accurate profile of the beneficiaries also helps the DSWD in the targeting and planning for appropriate interventions to properly guide them towards improving their living conditions.

According to Krishia Ann Macalindong, the social welfare assistant assigned in Balayan and is one of the staff conducting the said validation, this activity also helps them identify concerns such as children who are not attending school as well as lack of birth certificates and national identification registrations.

The updating of household information is conducted regularly in indigenous peoples (IP) communities all throughout the region. [with reports from KANMacalindong / KBAnareta]
