August 08, 2025 – A total of 200 Sama-Bajau homes in Batangas City now have access to light through the solar lamp donation of the Liter of Light and Association Soeur Emmanuelle (ASMAE) last July 31, 2025.
Of this number, around 87 homes are those of Sama-Bajau household-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Brgy. Malitam and Brgy. Wawa.
Families given priority in the distribution of solar lamps are those households with no access to electricity, especially those with children in school, solo parents, and persons with disability.

Belinda Saman, one of the 4Ps beneficiaries who received a solar lamp, shared her gratitude to this opportunity to light up their home at night.
“Nakakatulong po ito lalo na sa pag-aaral ng aking mga anak, kapag nagbabasa sila at gumagawa ng assignment,” shared Saman.
The ASMAE Philippines is a civil society organization partner of the DSWD Field Office IV-A in the implementation of the 4Ps along the promotion of children’s rights, including internally displaced ethnic groups such as the Sama-Bajau indigenous peoples group. [with reports from CGRFederico]
