July 10, 2025 – The DSWD Field Office IV-A, through the City Operations Office of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, linked beneficiaries of the 4Ps to technical skills training opportunities offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) through the Santa Rosa Manpower Training Center. During the parent leaders’ meeting last July 8, 2025, the said training center introduced available programs open for interested beneficiaries in the said city.

The training center announced that they are opening slots for training courses on shielded metal arc welding and automotive servicing.

According to 4Ps City Link Cheryl Echague, they are encouraging household-beneficiaries with members who have interests in acquiring employable skills or those who may not be able to send their children to college to take advantage of the opportunity to develop their skills and increase their chances of getting employment.

After the completion of the training, the Santa Rosa Manpower Training Center will also be providing starter tools to the beneficiaries so that they can immediately start earning after the program.

In the 4Ps implementation, the DSWD works towards assisting household-beneficiaries to improve their level of wellbeing and gain self-sufficiency. Part of the interventions to achieve this is linking beneficiaries to different agencies and organizations offering programs and services to address gaps hindering the improvement of the living conditions of the beneficiaries.

To date, the DSWD Field Office IV-A works with national government agencies like TESDA, Department of Education, Department of Health, and Department of Labor and Employment as well as 37 partner-civil society organizations, academic institutions, and private organizations for the implementation of the 4Ps in the region. [with reports from CGEchaque/VMEPasahol]
