July 23, 2025 – The DSWD, through its Field Office IV-A, continues to monitor the effects of the southwest monsoon in the CALABARZON Region in coordination with all affected local government units (LGUs). As of 9:00 PM of July 22, 2025, a total of 59 LGUs reported more than 23,000 families affected by the continuous heavy rains and flooding in their communities.

Of the number of affected families, 10,000 are staying inside 249 evacuation centers managed by their respective LGUs. At least 7,000 of these are staying in 90 evacuation centers in Rizal Province and at least 1,800 are in 110 evacuation centers in Cavite Province.

In all the affected localities, the Department has deployed its City / Municipal Quick Response Teams to support the LGUs in the disaster response operations, particularly in monitoring and assessing the situations in evacuation centers and distribution of necessary relief items.

Meanwhile, the DSWD also responds to LGUs’ requests for augmentation support, particularly in the providing food and non-food assistance to the affected families.

As of the said monitoring period, the DSWD Field Office IV-A has provided a total of PhP 5.5M worth of food and non-food items to affected families through their respective LGUs.
