June 19, 2025 – Eight Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) associations in General Trias City, Cavite completed additional livelihood training last June 11, 2025. This training was provided by the DSWD Field Office IV-A as part of the additional interventions of the Department to ensure the sustainability of their micro-enterprises.

These associations include the Navarro Blazers SLP Association (SLPA); Shining Franciscan’s SLPA, SF League SLPA, JB Power SLPA, Buenas Dias SLPA, Onward PK2 SLPA, and A-Team SLPA.

All these associations, which were organized by the DSWD in 2024, received their seed capital fund for the operation of their chosen group micro-enterprises last September 2024.

The training equipped the associations with more skills on negotiating with suppliers, buyers, and partners; increasing profitability of their products or services; making business decisions; and, implementing fair profit-sharing.

According to Bryan Sierra, project development officer of the SLP in DSWD Field Office IV-A, this training is beneficial to existing micro-enterprises so that they remain equipped with necessary skills to ensure that their businesses remain operational, and more importantly, ensure profitability and sustainability.

The SLP is a capacity-building program of the Department that is implemented to aid the participants to gain additional income through capacitating and guiding them in opening and managing their chosen micro-enterprises. [with reports from BRSierra]
