June 17, 2025 – A total of 300 residents of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite completed various environmental rehabilitation and communal gardening initiatives in the said town under the DSWD’s Risk Resiliency Program thru Project LAWA at BINHI. As part of their participation in the completion of these projects, the residents received PhP 10,400 each last June 11, 2025.

Included in the completed projects are river cleanup and planting along the riverbanks in 16 sites as well as communal vegetable gardens in Brgys. A. Dalusag and Castaños Lejos.

The residents, mainly belonging to vulnerable sectors such as women, solo parents, senior citizens, and farmers, completed these projects in 20 days, which started in May 2025.

The Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) uses the cash-for-training and cash-for-work scheme in capacitating and engaging residents developing and sustaining projects that would help address food insecurity and water insufficiency in their communities.

Since the completion of the projects, the DSWD turned over the projects to the local government and the community, who pledged continuous collaboration to sustain their initiatives. [with reports from ALSamsoden]
