March 14, 2025 – In Lipa City, Batangas, the DSWD Field Office IV-A provided stipends to 8,655 senior citizens under its Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program. The said senior citizens received their subsidies in two separate payout venues in the city from March 11-13.

The senior citizens received PhP 3,000 each, or equivalent to PhP 1,000 per month, for their stipend for the first quarter of 2025.

The Social Pension program, being implemented by the DSWD, provides a monthly stipend to qualified senior citizens to support their daily subsistence and medical needs. Under the Republic Act 11916 or the Act Increasing the Social Pension of Senior Citizens, each beneficiary is entitled to PhP 1,000 per month, which is being distributed by the DSWD, with the assistance of their respective local government units, on a quarterly basis.
