March 17, 2025 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IV-A and the Department of Education (DepEd) Region IV-A reinforced their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the CALABARZON Region last March 10 in Cainta, Rizal.

The agreement was signed by DSWD Regional Director Barry Chua and DepEd Regional Director Alberto Escobarte.

According to Dir. Escobarte, their agency will continue to work together with the DSWD to ensure that appropriate educational services are provided to the 4Ps children.

Included in the responsibilities of the DepEd IV-A in the signed agreement are their regular attendance to advisory council meetings, participation of school facilities in the bi-monthly monitoring of school attendance of 4Ps children, and provision of support services such as Youth Development Sessions and interventions for children who are not attending school.

In the implementation of the 4Ps, the DepEd IV-A serves as the vice-chair of the 4Ps regional advisory council, which provides policy directions and recommendations on the program implementation, especially in ensuring that the necessary support services are provided to 4Ps beneficiaries.

Other member-agencies of the advisory council are the Department of Health, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. [with reports from ACVGAcuña]
