At least 900 families from two barangays in General Emilio Aguinaldo town in Cavite Province are grateful for the improvement of the farm-to-market road constructed under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).
Last February 17, 2025, the DSWD Field Office IV-A turned over the 854-meter concrete farm-to-market road amounting to PhP 8.65 Million to the residents and barangay councils of Kabulusan and Batas-Dao.
The said road was constructed by the community residents themselves under the Kalahi-CIDSS’ Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay – Community Driven Development. Under this modality, the residents identified the most pressing problem in their community and proposed and implemented a project to address this.

“Di na mababakbak ang aming balikat sa pagbubuhat [of agricultural products],” shared Ramil Binauhan, the chairperson of the barangay development council, who led the implementation of the project, from project-proposal making, procurement, volunteer management, and the actual construction of the project.

Prior to the completion of the farm-to-market road, the residents of the two barangays faced difficulties in transporting their agricultural products to the market, oftentimes too costly and too tiring.
Other than the improved livelihood of the residents, the students in the two barangays will also benefit from this road as they can go to school conveniently regardless of weather conditions. [with reports from GLBayran]
