A total of PhP 9.42 million worth of seed capital fund was awarded to 25 associations from the second district of Batangas last February 6, 2025. The said seed capital fund is part of the interventions under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

The SLP is one of the poverty alleviation programs implemented by the DSWD alongside the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to help beneficiaries engage in income-generating activities to help improve their families’ economic conditions.

The SLP associations were organized by the DSWD and members were provided with various business-related skills training such as financial management, leadership, and bookkeeping among others.

After the receipt of their seed capital fund, the associations are expected to start opening their chosen and proposed micro-enterprises. Some of the micro-enterprises include managing of community stores, hog raising, sewing, and rice retailing. [with reports from JTLagrisola]
