A total of 31 organized associations in Batangas Province received PhP 9.48 Million seed capital fund for their chosen micro-enterprises in three separate ceremonial awarding ceremonies in Lemery and Mabini, Batangas last January 22 and in Tanauan City last January 23.
The said seed capital fund was provided under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
These associations were organized by the DSWD Field Office IV-A last 2024 and were provided with various capacity building sessions on leadership and business management among others.

As part of the SLP process, the associations chose viable microenterprises in their respective localities and prepared the necessary documents such as business proposals, and accreditation requirements.
With their seed capital fund, the associations will start their microenterprises such as community stores, rice and feed supply stores, animal raising, and food processing.
The SLP is a program of the DSWD that capacitates beneficiaries to engage in income-generating activities to help with their families’ needs and later achieve self-sufficiency. [with reports from AJLibao]
