The DSWD, through its Field Office IV-A, distributed PhP10.2 million worth of family food packs from August 8-10 to 14,451 families in Cavite who are affected by the Bataan oil spill.

These families are those residing in the coastal municipalities of Maragondon, Ternate, Naic, Tanza, Kawit and Noveleta and the city of Cavite.

The family food packs serve as augmentation support to these families as their main source of food and livelihood are currently being affected by the oil spill due to the fishing ban imposed in these localities.

The distribution of these family food packs was conducted in coordination with the Cavite Provincial Government and the local government units of the said localities.
