In the CALABARZON Region, a total of 276 centenarians had already received their cash gifts, including the Felicitation Letter signed by the President, for the year 2023.

Among those who had been provided cash gifts already are Lola Salud Sadili Lagrima (date of birth: Nov 13, 1923) of San Juan, Batangas and Lola Rita Bautista Arisgado (date of birth: April 8, 1920) of San Francisco, Quezon. Both centenarians expressed their deepest gratitude for the gifts that they received.

“Hanggat ako ay nabubuhay, hinding-hindi ko malilimutan ang regalong ito ng gobyerno (DSWD). Lalo akong nagkaroon ng pag-asang humaba pa ang aking buhay,” Lola Rita shared.

The cash gifts and felicitation letters of the remaining 35 centenarian targetted for the year are expected to be awarded before the year end.

Under Republic Act 10868 or the Centenarian Act of 2016, all citizens, upon reaching 100 years of age, are entitled to receive PhP 100,000.00 cash gift from the government through the DSWD and a felicitation letter signed by the President of the Republic. However, the granting of these is subject to compliance to all documentary requirements among which are birth certificate and OSCA ID.

All qualified claimants are requested to coordinate with the local social welfare and development offices or the office of the senior citizen affairs of their respective locality for the facilitation of this cash gift. (with reports from NACalderero and LBMatero)
