A total of 83 participants from five livelihood associations in the town of San Luis, Batangas received their seed capital fund from the DSWD under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Last August 11, the DSWD awarded the checks in a ceremony attended by all the participants and graced by Mayor Oscarlito Hernandez and 2nd District Representative Jinky Luistro.

The seed capital fund will be used by the associations to start their chosen micro-enterprises such as rice retailing, vegetable farming, and dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioner formulation among others.

The SLP is a capability-building program that provides opportunities for low-income families to engage in income-generating activities such as starting their chosen micro-enterprises or skills training for employment. [with reports from SSRomias]
