Thirteen municipalities in Quezon Province have started the second cycle of implementation of the Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last August 2015. A municipal orientation was held in each of these towns to start off the new implementation cycle.

The Kalahi-CIDSS program is being implemented in poor municipalities to help improve the delivery of social services in these areas. It follows the community-driven development approach, which allows the local residents to identify, plan, and implement their proposed need-responsive sub-projects.

For the past cycle, a total of 630 sub-projects provided with PhP 365.78 Million grant were implemented in Quezon Province through the said program. Among these are farm-to-market roads, school buildings, community centers, flood controls, water system, and electrification.

Mayor Pepito Reyes of Perez town acknowledged the Kalahi-CIDSS program for improving the living condition of his constituents and building their capacities to be responsible citizens of their barangays.

In the previous cycle, the municipality has implemented 14 sub-projects amounting to PhP 9.63 Million grant.
