A total of 764,573 children in the CALABARZON Region received health and educational support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. The said children are from the 306,197 registered household-beneficiaries in the region for the year 2014.
These children, age zero to 18, are supported by the program through the provision of cash grants in exchange for their families’ compliance with the program conditions. This includes 85% monthly school attendance, monthly preventive health checkups, twice a year deworming and monthly attendance to Family Development Sessions.
From January to October 2014, the DSWD has disbursed Php655.45 Million to these beneficiaries based on their compliance to the program conditions.
In the Pantawid Pamilya program, household-beneficiaries receive Php500 per month as health grant and Php300 per month per child in elementary or Php500 per month per child in high school as education grant for a maximum of three children per household. The cash grants are paid out to beneficiaries every two months.***
