Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program may now avail assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to aid them prepare for employment. The said assistance can be availed through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the agency.

The SLP is a community-based capacity building program that seeks to improve the socio-economic status of beneficiaries. Beneficiaries are then provided an option to take micro-enterprise development where they will be provided capital assistance or employment facilitation where they will be linked to institutions for employment.

Beneficiaries who opt for the latter can avail of the said pre-employment assistance, which is a one-time grant of a maximum of Php5,000.00.

Based on a recent memorandum issued by the Department to its Field Offices, the said grant will cover the cost of securing necessary documents for employment such as birth certificate, passport and NBI clearance. The assistance can also cover the transportation and meal expenses of the beneficiary in the first 15 days of employment while awaiting initial salary.

Eligible beneficiaries are members of Pantawid Pamilya households who are at least 18 years old and hold at least one certification that can guarantee employability such as school diploma and training certification from TESDA or other training institutions. The said beneficiaries must also have potential or guaranteed employers offering at least three months employment contract.

The granting of the pre-employment assistance is subject to assessment of the DSWD.***
