Eighty-five years old Pastora Santiago of Brgy Caniogan, Morong, Rizal, is among the beneficiaries of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program who were recently visited by DSWD field staff for an assessment of family under the Listahanan targeting system.

The said special validation is being conducted to ensure that beneficiaries of the Social Pension Program and the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program are from qualified poor families based on the Listahanan system. 

At least 10,000 family beneficiaries of both programs are targeted in this special validation in CALABARZON region alone and is expected to be completed within June 2014.  This special validation is different from the recently Malacanang-approved nationwide 2^nd round of household assessment for poor families which is expected to commence by the 2^nd semester of 2014.***
