Generika Drugstore, a drugstore chain offering generic medicines, had recently partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development in providing poor families in Tayabas City, Quezon province with low cost but high quality medicines.
Specifically, the Generika Drugstore in Tayabas will be providing beneficiaries of the Department’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the locality a 10 percent discount on generic medicines, free blood pressure monitoring, free professional consultation and medical test among others.
Generika has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the DSWD in November 2013 and has served 438 beneficiaries since through the said services.
According to store supervisor Florita Bartolome, the partnership is in line with the company’s commitment in addressing the need for quality and affordable medicines, especially among poor families, and in promoting the use of generic medicines.
Under the agreement, the services being offered by Generika can be availed by presenting the Pantawid household ID card to the store.
A total of 1,941 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program family-beneficiaries in Tayabas City can benefit from the said partnership.***
