March 02, 2026 – A total of 106 youth-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from Imus City received college scholarship certificates from PHINMA Education under its Hawak-Kamay Scholarship Program last February 25, 2026.

The said scholarship program is offered by the PHINMA Education that the beneficiaries can avail of in enrolling to their preferred courses at the St. Jude College Dasmariñas for the upcoming school year 2026-2027.

The PHINMA Education is an academic institution partner of the DSWD Field Office IV-A offering college scholarships to members of 4Ps households. This is part of the DSWD’s interventions to 4Ps beneficiaries in increasing their opportunities to access higher education and later gain employment to help improve their living conditions.

“Due to our limited financial resources, pursuing a college degree in Nursing would be very difficult without scholarship assistance. I believe that this opportunity [scholarship] will allow me to continue and successfully finish my studies and become a compassionate and competent nurse in the future,” shared Alicia Camit, currently a Grade 12 student, who is one of the beneficiaries of the scholarship program.

Meanwhile, Jasmine Torrejos, another scholarship recipient, shared her gratitude for the ‘hope’ this scholarship program has given her and her family.

“This scholarship is more than just financial assistance, it is an opportunity to change the course of my family’s future. Receiving the scholarship certificate filled me with gratitude and renewed motivation as it gave me an assurance that I could enroll in a private institution without the heavy burden of tuition fees,” said Torrejos, who plans to take up Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and commits to be the first of nine siblings in her family to get a college degree.

Other than the St. Jude College Dasmariñas, the same scholarship program is offered in PHINMA Education’s other schools in the CALABARZON Region such as the Rizal College of Laguna in Calamba City and the Union College of Laguna in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Earlier this month, the PHINMA Education also awarded the same scholarship certificates to 56 4Ps youth-beneficiaries at the Rizal College of Laguna. [with reports from RSDeLeon]
