February 10, 2026 – The Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) assured the DSWD Field Office IV-A of their continued and expanded support for the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Quezon Province.

In a meeting between the SLSU and the 4Ps Provincial Operations Office in Quezon last January 29, 2026, the SLSU committed to extend their extension services even for beneficiaries in other localities in the province, particularly in areas with SLSU campuses such as the municipalities of Alabat, Catanauan, Gumaca, Infanta, Polillo, and Tagkawayan and the cities of Lucena and Tayabas.

In the previous years, the SLSU has been an active academic institution-partner of the DSWD Field Office IV-A in the implementation of the 4Ps. Most of its extension programs, which include skills training, livelihood interventions, career guidance, and gender sensitivity training among others, are focused in Lucban and nearby municipalities.

“Hindi tumitigil ang aming programs, services, and support sa 4Ps [kahit for renewal pa ang aming MOA],” shared Dr. Felino Gutierrez Jr., the director of the SLSU’s Office of Extension Services.

Further, the SLSU is also set to engage in the conduct of research within the year for the measurement of the effects and improvement of several DSWD initiatives along gender and development in the implementation of the 4Ps in the CALABARZON Region. [with reports from JLOCanones]
