February 03, 2026 – One hundred thirty seven (137) residents of Mulanay, Quezon received a total of Php2.1 million worth of livelihood assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development last January 16, 2026.

The said residents were organized into seven (7) associations under the Department’s Sustainable Livelihood Program.  Each association received Php300,000.00 start-up capital for their chosen micro-enterprises that include hog raising, tricycle rental, rice and feed supply store, general merchandise, and agriculture stores.

Through this livelihood assistance, each member is expected to earn additional income for their  families through profit sharing or work honorarium from their respective group enterprises.

This assistance is initiated under the Peace and Development Buong Bansa Mapayapa initiative of the Department, which aims to strengthen the peace-building, reconstruction, and development in conflict-affected areas across various geographically-isolated and vulnerable areas by promoting sustainable development programs and involving local government units in the direct implementation of the livelihood projects.
