February 10, 2026 – A total of 37 parent leaders of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the Province of Rizal were capacitated by the CARE Philippines to serve as partners in the development of their communities.
During the workshop last January 29-30, 2026 in Antipolo City, the CARE Philippines capacitated them as community facilitators and leaders as well as oriented them along financial literacy, gender and economic rights, and disaster preparedness among others.

These parent leaders, from the localities of Antipolo City, Baras, Binangonan, Pililla, Tanay, and Montalban, will serve as volunteers and will be tapped by CARE Philippines in its community organizing activities under their Households Economic Resilience Strengthening for Women and Youth (HERS) Project.
The HERS Project provides sustainable livelihood opportunities to guide 4Ps beneficiaries towards improving their living conditions.
“Kami ay nagkaroon na ng sapat na kaalaman para maging facilitator upang maipaalam o matalakay namin ang mga programang tungkol sa pagnenegosyo at pagpapaunlad ng pamilya,” shared Ofelia Lleno, one of the trained parent leaders from Brgy. Palangoy in Binangonan.
More than being community volunteers, the trained parent leaders also shared that they can also use what they learned for the development of their respective families.
“Marami po akong natutunan na magagamit ko sa sarili ko at sa aming pamilya tulad ng tamang pagba-budget, karapatan ng mga kababaihan, at pakikipag-ugnayan sa ibang tao,” said Giralden Apostadero from Brgy. Macamot in Binangonan.
The CARE Philippines is a non-government organization partner of the DSWD Field Office IV-A in responding to the needs of 4Ps beneficiaries along livelihood and employment, particularly in the provinces of Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas. [with reports from RAFrancisco]
