February 9, 2026 – Parent leaders of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Rosario, Batangas now have access to health and accident insurance courtesy of the local government unit (LGU) of the said town.

According to 4Ps Municipal Link Andrea Magsino, the provision of free insurance coverage to the 169 parent leaders is part of the commitment of the LGU in supporting and protecting the parent leaders, particularly considering the nature of their work as volunteers of the program.

In the structure of the 4Ps implementation, parent leaders are tapped by the DSWD to work as partners of the Municipal Links at the barangay level. Their main tasks include information dissemination and provision of assistance to co-beneficiaries, which may require them to go from house to house or travel frequently to and from the 4Ps Municipal Operations Office at the town proper.

The insurance provided by the LGU, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and the Prudential Guarantee and Assurance, Inc., includes coverage for medical needs, including anti-rabies treatment for dog bites, hospitalization allowance, burial assistance, and accidental disability or death benefits.

“Ang libreng insurance na ito ay tunay na malasakit at malaking kaginhawahan sa aming mga parent leaders. Maraming salamat po sa LGU Rosario at sa aming mga ML [Municipal Links] na nagpupursige para suportahan kami,” shared Delia Talao, a 4Ps parent leader frm Brgy. Lumbangan.
