January 5, 2026 – The Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS) capacitated a total of 30 Sama-Bajau beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Lucena City towards establishing income-generating activities through the skills demonstration and food processing training conducted last December 18, 2025.
During the said skills demonstration and training, the beneficiaries were trained in making banana chips, cassava chips, and doughnuts.

“Masaya po ako kasi kahit wala na kami sa 4Ps ay may ganitong tulong pa ring ibinibigay sa amin. Gusto ko pong ipakita sa lahat na ang mga katutubong Sama-Baju ay nagsisikap, may pangarap, at may kakayanan na maipagmamalaki,” shared Marina Madarane, 21, a beneficiary from Brgy. Barra.
Madarane added that they will use their new skills to start earning for their families.
The QNAS, an accredited vocational school of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, is a partner of the DSWD Field Office IV-A in the implementation of the 4Ps in Quezon Province since October 2025. Some of its services for the 4Ps beneficiaries include training needs assessment, scholarship programs, technical skills training, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
In the implementation of the 4Ps, beneficiaries are linked to different institutions for livelihood interventions and other services to enable them to support their families’ needs and stand on their own. [with reports from RMJael]
