December 15, 2025 – The DSWD Field Office IV-A has started guiding at least 45,000 senior high school students and their parents, who are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the CALABARZON Region, to determine their career pathways upon their graduation at the end of the school year.

This initiative, which is part of the discussion in the December’s family development session of the 4Ps, introduces various paths after graduation including higher education, technical-vocational training, entrepreneurship, or employment as well as financial assistance programs of the government depending on their chosen paths.

“Napakalaking tulong po ito para sa aming mga mag-aaral upang makapili at makapagplano ng landas na tatahakin patungo sa aming pangarap upang mapagtagumpayan naming makatapos hindi lamang para sa aming sarili kundi para sa aming pamilya,” shared Cyruz Bautista, a 4Ps child-beneficiary from Tiaong, Quezon who attended the session last December 10.

As part of this initiative, the students and their parents also drafted their respective pathway plans after graduation to ensure that both the children and their parents understand their responsibilities in not only choosing pathways but also in starting and finishing their chosen pathways.

Meanwhile, the DSWD will be consolidating these plans and endorse these to appropriate partner-agencies including the Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Department of Labor and Employment for possible interventions depending on the beneficiaries’ qualifications.
