December 22, 2025 – Seven (7) families, who are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Agoncillo, Batangas, are happy to be able to spend the Christmas season in their new homes after receiving housing units from Gawad Kalinga, in partnership with the local government unit, last December 19, 2025.

Juliet Agustin, one of the 4Ps beneficiaries who received a unit, shared her gratitude to the Gawad Kalinga, the local government, and the DSWD, for the opportunity to be able to finally have a home she can call their own.

“Hindi po basta na lang binigay ang bahay at lupa sa amin, na-apply ko po ang mga aral sa 4Ps, lalo na sa kahalagahan ng pagboboluntaryo. Kaya buong puso po akong nagtrabaho para maitayo ang aming tahanan, kasama ang marami pang volunteers. Ngayon po ay magpa-Pasko na kami na may sarili nang tahanan,” happily shared Augustin, who is a solo parent and whose house was totally damaged during the onslaught of typhoon Kristine in 2024.

According to Lorraine Kate Umali, the 4Ps Municipal Link in the said town, the 4Ps families prioritized to receive the housing units are those who have been assessed to be most economically-vulnerable and severely affected by disasters.

Other than the seven 4Ps beneficiaries, 15 other families from the said town received housing units from the Gawad Kalinga. [with reports from LKMUmali/AANohay]
