In celebration of the 46th founding anniversary of the National Training School for Boys (NTSB), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to push for the equal opportunities for the children, particularly those in conflict with the law.

The NTSB, a residential institution in Tanay, Rizal Province managed by the DSWD Field Office IV-A, caters to children-in-conflict with the law (CICLs). It provides protection and parental care to CICLs to help them through rehabilitation in a residential setting and prepare them for successful adjustment with their family and community after discharge.

With the theme “Pantay na karapatan, isulong sa kabataan,” the anniversary celebrated the continuous operation of the center, particularly its provision of rehabilitation services to the children to enable them to live normal lives after discharge.

DSWD IV-A Asst. Regional Director for Administration Mylah Gatchalian, in her message to the clients, staff and partners during the celebration, shared the Department’s appreciation and pride to the center’s residents who continue to be disciplined and who work towards their rehabilitation.

Jeorge Lacson, a former NTSB resident, shared the possibility of a second chance to CICLs like him and how the rehabilitative services of the center helped him start his life again.

Through group presentations, the residents also showcased their rights as children, particularly on their need for survival, protection and development.

During the celebration, the Department also recognized partners and donors who continuously help in the provision of services to the clients of the center.#  with reports from JGCaño
